The propaganda posters

In Russia during Stalin govern the government, he have used propaganda to make the people believe what he wanted them to believe in and to see what he want the people to see. By using propaganda, Stalin had the power over the education of the people and their freedom of speech. Stalin limits the freedom of speech and limits their thinking. They also control the children’s education in school by teaching history with communism which the fact is biased and untrue. Propaganda was also spread by poster which may support Communist or against Communist.

Let us strengthen the class solidarity and cooperation of all communists of all countries in the struggle for peace and socialism. Banners say: Peace; Work; Socialism; Disarmament; For social progress; No racism... There are Marx, Engels and Lenin depicted on the flag.

The poster expresses the people’s support of Communism. The man in the poster holding the flag of communist government show his support to the Soviet party. The three leader of the communism is Karl Marx, Engels and Lenin who looked forward for the future in the flag. The influence of the man with the flag of communist influence the crowd at the bottom by the link of the man’s leg to the crowd and the size of the man show the powerful influence that the crowd receives. The eyes of the man looking down at the crowd show the caring for the citizen that they will receive under communism. The crowds also look at the same direction like Lenin, Engels, and Marx, which I believe is the brighter future that the three leaders have promise the crowd which is the citizen of the communism country that have different jobs, gender, and age. The banner that the crowd is holding show the support of communism by using red and the word that supports Communism. With this poster, people would want to support communism for the better and brighter future that the three leaders have promised. The poster emphasize the man holding the red flag and the face of the important leaders of Communism to show the influence that the people received, the choice of using less color to make red color shows up, and using less word which make the reader remember easier is the effective part of the poster.

[I want] To live like Lenin, grow up to become a communist and to bring new fame for the country! The upper guy is teen Lenin, the lower a "pioneer"

The boy’s wish of becoming Lenin emphasizes the support of communism very much. The boy’s role model, Lenin, encourage the people to support communist party. The enlarge picture of Lenin’s picture show the influence of him to the boy. The boy’s uniform also indicates the support of communism which the uniform is colored in red. his eyes also give hopes and looks like he have a goal that he promise to accomplish them. I main message in this poster is that even young people expect communist to govern their country. His role model, Lenin, encourage people to support the communist and the use of making ayoung adult, the future of the country, wanted communist is very effective.

All power to soviets! Peace to all nations! Land to peasants! Factories to workers! Lenin, holding the Pravda newspaper

The poster’s main idea was to point out the promise that Lenin have gave to the people. The word at the back of Lenin is the promise he made to the people which is to make soviet powerful, to have peace which at that time people want to get out of WWI, to give land to the peasant, and to make jobs for workers. These promise are all the popular wants of the Russian people at that time which to be able to gain these offers, people must support communism. At the hand of Lenin, he was holding the Pravda newspaper which is famous and gained a lot of support to the communist idea. Lenin holding the newspaper tightly showing the effort he will put in his promise which will come true which gave hopes to people around Russia to support communism not the provisional government at that time. The effective of the poster is the look of Lenin which has a reliable and the promises behind him emphasize the important of the offer that he is giving to the people.

Capital: I will crush Soviet Russia in my fist!!! But... it only clenches its fist in impotent anger! 1920

The poster reflects the evil of capitalism. The image of a man wearing a hat represents the evil capitalism which has an ugly face and is trying to destroy Soviet Russia. The image worsens the belief of capitalism which many people at that time believe capitalism is evil. The image worsen the believe for the Russian people by making Russia a target of capitalism which make the people afraid because they are being the target and they need to protect themselves by being communist because in the right image show the protection of the communist from the capitalism by having many supports which fight against capitalism. This shows that people need to co-operate by joining communist to prevent capitalism in Russia. The use of cartoon is effective because they also attract children which also spread the idea more efficiently. The use of making Russia a target is effective since, when people are in target, they will try to protect themselves and with a solution shown in the poster, people will use the solution provide for them which is very effective

What the October Revolution has given to working and peasant women 1920

The poster describes the situation after October revolution which has a woman as a main character in the poster. At the back of her, there is a bright sun and blue sky showing the brighter future after the revolution. In the hand of the woman, there is a hammer and on the floor there is a sickle showing the sign of communist influence. At the side of her, there is a library, a mensa, and worker club which shows the improvements and benefits after the revolution which was the education of people and a better living for people. She also wore good cloths which represent the wealth that the people get after the revolution. The poster using woman as the main character in the poster make woman plays more roles during that time. The poster makes woman have feel that they have more rights and opportunity to improve their live than before making them want to support the communist. The effectiveness of the poster is the uses of woman in the poster since it lure more women to become more interest in the poster. The colors of the poster are also effective since it makes the poster looks dreamy with vivid colors and it is attractive.

Bread and friendship are our basis. The National Emblem is bound from the spikes. Bread and friendship are the most holy things for us. We are proud of it and it makes us strong.

Bread(food) and friendship within the country and to other country is the most wanted of the people in that time. By promising the people of what they desire is the best way to lure the people in for supporting the communist. The message of the poster that they are showing is that they are willing to make the people’s hope and desires come true by supporting them. As you can see, at the back of the picture, the symbol of the communism is over the world which they are trying to control over the world with the promise of bread and friendship. With the light spreading at the back of the bread and the soviet symbol showing how holy the promise is. The poster express the important of the people desire very much which is there effectiveness since people would become attracted to the poster and would even toughly support communism. The color of the poster is also effective since gold is the gold of richness, which makes the poster, looks important and worthy.

Conclusion

For my conclusion, Propaganda had shape many believe of Russian people. The communist government uses the attractive posters, containing untrue facts, to make sure that people are still giving them their supports. Government uses their bias facts to also spread their ideas to other countries. These posters made two different view points of communist which is to support or against. Government race with other artist to ensure their security of the people’s believes in communism. Even tough there is two different viewpoints about communism, both of them is effective in different countries and because it is not rare to find them, they are effective in different classes of people. Today commercial and advertise also use propaganda to persuade others to purchase their product

The Age of New Experience

During the 1930s the main problem in the decade was the Great Depression which sucked up the economies of America and other countries in Europe. It gives new experience for how to take car of their economy. Many farmers in the 1930s got experience from the dust bowl which was caused by the erosion of soil which the farmers made it. During the late 1920s early 1930s, America had a hardship on their economies. The causes of the great depression came from factories, who over-produce goods and invest in their industry a luring people to become interest in buying the factory’s stocks because the people but believe that the factory would have a lot of profit from the goods they made but instead it was a illusion because the product was over-produce so the producing is more than the consuming. Another reason is stock markets are buy in credits not in real money so the stock market usually was made by the credits People dumped their stocks as fast as they could in October 24, 1929, which was also known as the “Black Thursday”, since the stocks price alter wildly. The stocks continued to be sold out during the next Tuesday which was known as “Black Tuesday” which was the beginning of the great crash. During October 29 to November 13, stocks price have reach their lowest point and as a result, $30 billion was soak up from the American’s economy. During the early 1930, American loses their jobs and homeless was the major problem in the country. Many men were unemployed and some children have to be responsible for the money because their parent don’t have jobs. During this year, African-American people have the most difficultly life since the jobs that the black people used to do, have been give to the white people. During 1930 to 1933, the gross domestic product income, have dropped from $87 billion to $40 billion. President Herbert Hoover was blamed for the Great depression for his underestimate of it so people called the area where the homeless people stay, The Hoovervilles. Even though things are getting badly for the economies, some industries manage to find ways for money. People mostly use their money to make their life happier during the depression. Making benefits to the entertainments, oil, and cigarettes industries.

The dust bowl was caused by the erosion of the soil in the earth. With poor farming system, farmers didn't change crops in their plantation which is a technique to prevent the soil from erosion. When a drought accord, the dried land was blow in to dust and was blown away to the sky by the wind. The dusts accumulate in the air forming huge dark clouds covering the sky. As the dust moved through out The Great plain of America, The Dust storm picked up dust along the way towering the dust in to the air. The dusts storms damage agriculture in the South and the Central America where crops and plantation usually developed. Houses and crops where covered with thick layers of dust when the dust storm moved into the region. On April 14, 1935, occurred the most depressive dust storm which turns the sky pitch-black. The day was also known as “Black Sunday” which was later change to the Dust Bowl by the Press reporter.

Electron Microscope (1933)

The electronic Microscope opened up much scientific knowledge to the world. The Microscope was used to study tiny organism or objects that we can’t see with our naked eyes. The first Electron Microscope was invented by German engineer named Ernst Ruska and Max Knoll which was based on the idea of Louis de Broglie, a French physicist. The studies of the microscope make Ernst identify the limited focus of light of the microscope to the object. Ernst developed the first electron lens which can focus electron instead of light which make the microscope magnify object with greater power. Even though it was not used very much, but the microscope can magnify 400 times. The electron microscope won a half Nobel price in physic.
